I remember when Justin Lin's film, BETTER LUCK TOMORROW, came out, young Asian Americans and related groups were sending e-mails to everyone, telling them to go see the movie during its opening weekend. Their campaign succeeded.

They had a vested interest in the film doing well because they felt it showed Asian Americans in a new light. It also helped that the film's target audience was well versed and comfortable with the Internet.

That said, the L.A. Times reported today about this Lonelygirl 15 phenomenon on myspace. (You all may be familiar with this--I'm slow on the uptake.) Apparently, her videos might not be amateur at all--they might have been generated by CAA in Hollywood.

So there goes my corporate-driven theory. But I guess we don't know if this is really connected to some kind of movie or other product yet.Naomi Hiraharahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16933578894513518349noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26861837.post-1157734096395326152006-09-08T12:48:00.000-04:002006-09-08T12:48:00.000-04:00Just post a video of yourself singing "It's Not Un...Just post a video of yourself singing "It's Not Unusual" in your underwear on YouTube. Unless, that is, we've read the book or know the author or have a personal involvement with it. That's why I only post causes and products on my blog that I have a personal connection to.

I hate being a tool of the corporation because the bottom line is. their interest in me is only with my money, such as there is.Gina Blackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09100701844882701469noreply@blogger.com
