I bet the Mets would love to look to Wang in their opener, if they had one.
OOOHHH SNAP
Yeah, because being bounced in the first round (like the Yankes will be) is SO much more notable.
As for next year...
1) A-Rod will be gone
2) Jason Giambi/Doug Mientkiewicz are your starting first basemen
3) After Wang, Mike Mussina (5.15 ERA) is your only starter with any experience.
4) Johnny Damon is getting better with age (oh wait, no he's not)
5) I see a 3-year, $45 million deal for Jorge Posada and his 36-year old knees
But hey, at least you have Joba and his dad!
Pettite will be coming back. Hughes, Kennedy... nice youth.
I think A Rod comes back.
Moose... meh.
Maybe we'll see that young outfielder they're talking about. Forgot his name.
Abreu gone.
And something else fun, but I don't know what.
Know who else had good youth? Brian Taylor and Nick Johnson. I'll believe it when I see it.
Pettitte actually performed nicely for my fantasy team as a waiver pickup, especially since I didn't have to pay him $16 million for a 4.05 ERA and 1.41 WHIP.
Maybe Joba can both start and come out of the bullpen. Or Roger Clemens will come back for a discounted rate of only $3 million per win.
(if you can't tell, I'm quite bitter and hostile about the Mets)
