It's Gonna Be a Killer Year
I'm happy to announce that the Class of 2007 has officially begun soliciting new members. It began with a comment on this blog by J.T. Ellison, the fire was stoked by Sarah Weinman, and now J.T., Brett Battles, Sandra Ruttan and myself have opened up Killer Year, a brand new website for mystery and thriller authors whose debut novels are being published in 2007. Once it's up and running, the site will feature news, reviews, articles, blogs, info on all members of the class of 2007, and much, much more.
If you are a thriller/mystery/romantic suspense writer whose debut novel is being published in 2007, email jason@jasonpinter.com with the following:
Your Name
Book title
Publisher
Publication month
website/blog URL
Jpeg of your book cover
Contact info
We've already begun compiling a database of our members, and will be sending out blast emails and organizing fun events and promotions as we approach 2007. Editors and agents, please pass this along to your authors. This will be a great way to learn about exciting debut crime writers, and get exclusive content on upcoming releases.
So get ready, because 2007 is gonna be a Killer Year.

Looks like Blogger may be back in business. I am very excited to be a part of this wonderful group.
Two days of blogger burping is more than enough...let's hope it stays up.
Also could not be more excited to be in such fantastic company.
Phew, what an awful 2 days for it to go down.
We've already had a lot of talented authors join the class, hope it keeps up!
You know, Jason, getting a blog attached to your website is cheap or free, especially if you already have your website up and running . . . I paid a professional web guy to integrate wordpress into my web design, but if you don't care if it's part of your overall design (I'm anal that way), then you can simply have wordpress as a subdirectory off your main page.
HOW to do it is beyond my desire to learn.
*sigh*
No, that's okay. Really. Leave me out. Just because my debut is set for 2006, yanno... I'll just sit over here, alone, with my cardboard party hat.
:-)
Good luck with the group. Looks like you will be doing some really exciting things... Have a blast and may you each sell a few million copies!
We're hard at work setting up the webpage and formatting, thanks for the tip Allison, especially since I'm like the anti-Rain Man when it comes to making a website.
And S.W., what we're hoping is that future classes (2008, 2009, etc...) will adopt Killer Year as well. Maybe you can ask your publisher to move your book back a few months (Just kidding). But at least you have a party hat. I don't. And I'm jealous.
