On another note, check out the interesting discussion of publishing in hardcover vs. paperback original at Levi Asher's Lit Kicks. There are interesting thoughts from a number of publishing pros. Scott Hoffman's story about Pam Jenoff's THE KOMMANDANT'S GIRL was especially interesting to me, in that Pam and I share the same publisher and our both of our debuts were published as paperback originals (hers in trade, mine in mass).
