The Joker Deconstructed
I reviewed Alan Moore and Brian Bolland's THE KILLING JOKE over at Writers are Readers. THE KILLING JOKE is one of the most influential Batman comics ever, and especially relevant because it was the first time we learned how Batman's arch nemesis, The Joker, came to be. It's also the one book Christopher Nolan gave to Heath Ledger to prepare him for his portrayal. And with "The Dark Knight" opening this weekend, what better time to reflect on The Clown Price of Crime.

I have never been a fan of comic books, but oddly enough I read this one - when it came out, no less. I have a friend who was a comic book freak and he basically forced it on me.
Fitting that it ends with a joke.
