R.I.P. Donald Westlake
What a sad way to ring in the new year, with the loss of one of the all-time titans of crime fiction. There are many more links and remembrances over at Sarah's, but it's really stunning to look back at the last year and see how many legends have passed in such a short time.

Definitely a sad start to the New Year, especially since the passing of other greats last year. But you have to admit, Donald Westlake left behind a literary legacy that will be tough to match.
Let's just hope we don't lose anymore mainstays like him for awhile.
