Changes

There have been some pretty significant changes in my professional life this week. But when one door closes, several more open. And sometimes you have to take one step back to take two forward. Not to mention the rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated.

Now enough with the platitudes.

Thanks to all the well-wishers. Books are in my blood, they're my passion, my life.

And I ain't going nowhere.

That's exactly the right attitude, cuz. Fuck 'em if they can't take a post.

From a guy who's been let go a couple of times: best of luck. I don't think you'll be sitting at home long.

Well, I'm not in the loop so I don't know what happened, but whatever pile of shit it was, I'm sure you'll come up smelling like a rose! (In your professional opinion, is that a platitude or a cliche?)
Best,
Richard

As one who has been shown the door more than a time or two, I can assure you that those platitudes have a high degree of truth.

And remember Churchill's advice: "Never give in."

Damn. I hadn't been following the story till now. What Duane said. And cliches become cliches for a reason.

Best of luck.

Jason, I was very sorry to hear what happened, and that we won't get the chance to work together. Perhaps in the future at some point. In any case, best of luck to you in everything.

Jason, I've already forgotten which comment said "I guess it's all right to blog about the book business as long as you don't blog about the book business," but judging from the amount of ink this is generating, I can't help but think what happened is ultimately going to be good for you, and your writing career.

And fuck 'em anyway.

I don't know what happened, but I do know that you're a great guy. Sometimes if we find ourselves being forced to "start all over" in a sense it must be because the old stuff was holding us back. I'm certainly a fan for the long hall.

Jason, I've just read about this via Sarah and it's absolutely disgusting. Kudos to you and all success in the future. I hope it doesn't impact too negatively on your authors, all of whom must be devastated.

I can't believe that reaction to one more of your insightful and neutral posts. They don't deserve a positive promoter and influence like you. And fortunately you don't need them.

Okay, Jason, I'm up to speed now, and have posted brief comments on my blog at http://satorikick.com . You're going to do great things wherever you land!

As a former editee of Jason's I can assure everyone that he's going to land on his feet. He's got great instincts and the passion he talks about is sincere and exciting. Looking forward to hearing what comes next, JP.

Want to work for us? We'd LOVE a good editor.

At any rate, best of luck to you!

I can guess by reading the comments at what's happened, but Jason, you're talented, inspiring, and have a great writing career ahead of you.

What goes around, comes around. And just like any great hockey coach, I'm sure another "team" will be more than happy to snap you up! Keep the faith!

Late to the wake, as usual, but wanted to offer my condolences. But just think. Time to write! Time to think about your own characters rather than someone else's. No more meetings.

This may be a blessing in disguise.

Whatever happens, best of luck to you.

We don't know each other and I don't know exactly what happened, but from one writer to another: best of luck in all future endeavors! It sounds like you're a great guy and you have many other avenues to explore. I'm sure your writing productivity will explode during this time. Take care!
